ABT4081 - S&C Dynamic Track Spread Gauge
The ABT4081 measures dynamic lateral movement of stock rail tracks under load. The gauge is designed to be used in the movable part of a switch and is particularly suited to situations where the space between the rails is obscured (where impossible to use a measuring device spanned between the rails).
The ABT4081 hooks over the flanges of flat-bottomed rail and measures, field to field in areas wider than the four foot, the amount of spread caused by trains passing over. The spread remains recorded on the device until reset by hand. The gauge measures track spread up to 55 mm in 1 mm increments, displayed on an analogue scale.
